My Homelab Journey until 2026

HD in my gaming rig. Or several external HD. Laptop needed to access this Data, but i got messy fast.

It all started years back with a Qnap Nas. I needed storage for some ISO’s. All configuration was done with a GUI, just two Users and 6 SMB Shares. It still works, but i run out of storage and compute. I could run some App’s via the included Store. I tried the music streaming app, photo organisation, LAMP stack for some dev. But it was clunky, unresponsive and not tailored to my needs. The whole thing is boring to operate, which is exactly what I wanted.
